All in all, "My Why" put things in perspective for the Detroit legends who have seen it all and have matured from young emcees to established acts. Kuniva follows suit and shares his disdain and disappointment at folks who put him everywhere except their prayers. As all good things go, things changed especially when Proof died and so-called friends showed their true colors leaving McVay wondering where all the love went.
Swifty McVay starts off by recounting the good old days from rapping on the corners to the world tours, videos and seemingly endless love from fans and families. Although the subject matter has a solemn, bittersweet feel, the backdrop used to convey these feelings is pretty upbeat but doesn't take away from the heartfelt lyrics.
